Alexander Walker London Evening Standard Disney's sequel to the story of Mowgli and his jungle companions leaves out the name of Rudyard Kipling on the credits. No loss. It could well have left out the name of Disney. Jan 10, 2018 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Ok for kids, but not the most inspired sequel. Rated: 2/5 Dec 28, 2010 Full Review Empire Magazine Rated: 1/5 Dec 30, 2006 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The catchiness of the original songs can't be matched with the jazzier and updated soundtrack, even as this follow-up recycles melodies from 1967. Rated: 5/10 Sep 30, 2020 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending Not a good movie, and probably better left unwatched. Which, for a DisneyToon sequel, is actually a pretty good place to land. Rated: 5/10 Feb 5, 2018 Full Review James Plath Family Home Theater The characters giggle too much (as hyper-cute Saturday morning animated offerings will do), the music isn't as well integrated into the story, and the humans come across like an Indian version of The Cosby Show. Dale R In this sequel to the 1967 film, Mowgli returns to the jungle but Shere Khan has also returned looking for revenge. The animation here is well done and really shows the improvement that DisneyToon Studios has done over the years. Good enough for this movie to get a theatrical release. The voice acting is also well done with the stand out being Tony Jay as Shere Khan (though he did voice the character in the television series Talespin) and Haley Joel Osment as Mowgli has a way better singing voice than Bruce Reitherman in the original film. John Goodman does well as Baloo, but he is no Phil Harris and Baloo feels like a different character, or someone trying to act like Baloo. The new music is forgettable and they rely way too much on rehashing “The Bare Necessities”. The plot is fairly simple and predictable, plus it really doesn’t go anywhere as the characters end up at the same point they started in. If you enjoyed the first movie you may also enjoy this sequel. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Audience Member The one good thing this movie gave us was the Kaa encounter with Shanti... I've said too much. VALAR MORGULIS! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/04/24 Full Review Robbie C This movie is nothing like the original. The Smash Mouth version of “I wanna be like you” is awful. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Carson W It's an interesting concept but it's exacted poorly Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Al M Heart warming sequel.. enjoyed this one on vacation with my kids. Know its a family feel good movie.. and you will get your kick out of it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Luke R I don't care what people say, this is such a great childhood film! I watched this before the original movie when I was a kid. Honest to God, this sequel is better than the first one! Great animation and great voice acting.
