Meagan Jordan Rolling Stone Rye Lane is about a day that gets continuously better, if not funnier and more loving... What makes the film relatable is how achingly human it all is. Apr 4, 2023 Full Review Richard Brody New Yorker The able cast can’t quite transcend the script’s clichés. Apr 3, 2023 Full Review Alison Willmore New York Magazine/Vulture Rye Lane asks you to fall in love with Dom and Yas, but failing that, it will have you hopelessly smitten with its South London setting and with that feeling of having the day open and nothing to do but wander and see what may happen. Apr 1, 2023 Full Review Ally Ham The Review Geek Miller’s unique directorial style captures the character of South London in a refreshingly funny manner, with ever a mind to the authenticity of people and place. Jul 31, 2024 Full Review Daniel Allen Loud and Clear Reviews Rye Lane is a film you will fall in love with immediately. A fun, hilarious and charming British movie all about resolving the past and finding the best person at the worst time. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 25, 2024 Full Review Calum Cooper In Their Own League Rather it plays along with its premise, pointing out the contradictions and hardships that come with romance, while simultaneously building towards a potentially romantic outcome. r96 s Imperfect, but endearing. 'Rye Lane' certainly ends up having some charm to it and is fairly amusing in parts as well. I wouldn't say it's anything above good, the acting and dialogue particularly feel iffy, but all in all it does the job and is competently made. David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah are likeable and work as a two onscreen. All things considered, it's a worthy watch. There are a couple of good cameos scattered in there too. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/06/24 Full Review Lena A I watched it yesterday with my friends and we loved it! The way the shots are filmed is very unique, and the colours are beautiful. There's always a lot of things happening at the same time, either at the foreground or in the background while the main characters are talking, and it's orchestrated in a very beautiful way! The story is adorable and predictable, and that's what we were expecting from a romantic comedy! In short, a feel good movie! I'll definitely watch it again! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Jonah K incredible charm. iconic fisheye. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Helen A This is a wonderfully written movie. The chemistry between Jonsson and Oparah is great. Definitely a must-see. Best comedy love story I've seen in more than a decade. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review Niki M An entirely predictable rom-com is elevated by a snappy script and effervescent performances from the two young leads. A lightweight but completely feel-good film that leaves you with a smile on your face. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/08/24 Full Review Caleb J One of the best romantic comedies in the last 5 years! Beautiful cinematography and charismatic performances. We don't get a ton of good rom-com's any more. This one happens to be great! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews
