He isn’t a director for everyone, but I love his style of filmmaking. The Lobster especially is one of the most unique films I’ve seen in a decade. The premise is not only bizarre, but it features some wonderful irony about the absurdity of relationships.

The performances are really good in this movie and everyone sells the setting completely. There’s a lot of “wow that’s weird” moments in this movie. It’s an interesting ride to see what is going to happen next but doesn’t particularly grasp you too much. I had a few laughs. I think you almost have to watch this mood with how much hype has been around it, but it’s not life changing by any means.
