This movie is magical. I stumbled upon it while searching for Brie Larson movies and I’m so happy I did. I had zero expectations and I was so pleasantly surprised. It’s quirky and magical and beautiful and touches your soul and inner child. I love Brie Larson and I want her to direct more movies and the cast was so good! It’s cute as it is emotional! 5 stars Brie!

I really love this movie and I think it holds up 6 years later. This is an abstract and dreamlike film that doesn't take itself too seriously. Its absurdity helps us understand the poignant fears and reality of growing up and merging our childhood fantasies with adult responsibilities. The color in this film is wonderful and nostalgic.

Even adults will be fascinated by the apparently simple experience of life that the film depicts. Brie Larson - as usual - gives a spotless performance. And as a director, she shows also a skilled confidence with which she guides the cast (Samuel L. Jackson always shines) and the viewer. We look forward to more productions with Larson's signature.

It's a weird ass movie that may be too complicated for some people to comprehend, but I really liked its message. It's evident it's got brie larson all over it, and I love the beginning where they showed the home videos. What I love most about it though was the resolve. It was a good ending, although imo they should've just made kit work for an advertising company or publishing because that's where she belong.
