Benji Wilson Daily Telegraph (UK) In many ways, it’s the lack of surprises in Secrets of Playboy that are so depressing: the question of how this was not merely allowed but actively lionised for so long sticks in the craw throughout. Rated: 3/5 Nov 29, 2022 Full Review Lorraine Ali Los Angeles Times The problem is that by mixing together allegations large and small, frightening and simply strange, public and previously unknown, "Secrets of Playboy" reveals less than the sum of its parts. Jan 31, 2022 Full Review Alessa Dominguez BuzzFeed News By the time of [Hefner's] death, the myth had started crumbling, and some obituaries raised questions about his legacy. Secrets of Playboy shatters whatever remains of it. Jan 28, 2022 Full Review Marcelo Stiletano La Nación (Argentina) Playboy Secrets promises to deliver a different kind of sentence. [Full review in Spanish] Jun 21, 2022 Full Review Joel Keller Decider What Secrets Of Playboy is most effective at doing is consolidating all the information that has dribbed and drabbed out about the dark side of Hugh Hefner's empire over the past 15-20 years. Bill B The girls knew exactly what they were getting into... After the first time, they could have left, no one held a gun to their head. Who cares and who watches this nonsense. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/15/23 Full Review Vince C The show is a joke. The man is dead and cant defend himself. These women never came forward with anything until now. They all made money and lived in the mansion and now they make these accusations. There were thousands of women who lived there over the years, and only a few are speaking on this show, why >??? Because they are making things up. If this was true hundreds if not thousands would be speaking out. I am sure some bad things happened, but not to the extent they are saying. And if any of these things are true, and they knew it, and didnt help those other women, they should be help responsible also. They are just as bad. I cant believe how they make believe they are crying speaking of things, but theres no tears lol, what a joke. A few women defended Hef, saying that a lot of this crap these other woemn are saying didnt happen, yea, no kidding, they are just looking to keep making money off of Hefs name, amazing really. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/11/23 Full Review Denise C I couldn't stop watching it. I was not surprised Hef used women but the level of depravity shocked me. This documentary told the truth finally about a monster and what he allowed to happen to the girls and what he did himself! This documentary showed Hef as an evil, disgusting man who I believe actually hated women and used them like meat to be passed around, drugged, raped and other horrific things! Naive girls thought they were going to live a dream but it actually was a nightmare! Hef did pull one over on the whole world and kept it up until he died! Hef was never charged with anything, never accused of anything and people looked up to him! Hugh Hefner had so much power he silenced everyone! I am glad this eye opening documentary told the truth about Hefner and the horrific way he treated women and the harm he did to hundreds of women! May in death Hugh Hefner and his inner circle get what they deserve! The one thing i did not like was the black journalist bring up systemic racism and trying to state only black men were accused of rape and that's untrue. Hef also taught other men how to use drugs to make women out of it so men could do anything to them. It's a excellent watch and done really classey considering the horrific topic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/06/23 Full Review Krypton A lot of this stuff we knew, but we just didn't have eyewitnesses because of revenge & reprisals. Very powerful documentary, a lot of what I knew or saw on the news, this documentary makes sense. "The pieces of the puzzle now all fit." Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/23 Full Review Dede R They knew where the door was and yet they decided to stay! Dumb show! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/22/23 Full Review David H I watched this documentary and if even half of the allegations in it are true Hefner was one of the most evil and demented men in modern American history. Some of the things that the women describe having seen or experienced in the mansion are so cruel and depraved that they seem beyond belief. One playmate/bunny was so degraded and traumatized that, alone in her apartment, she put a gun to her head and blew her brains out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
