A young chef from the fine dining world comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he's used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother's suicide. As Carmy fights to transform both the shop and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveals itself as his chosen family.

Perfect season - This season was a clear step up, with my favorite episode being S2 E6, with the chaotic family dinner, that really cemented the style that the series goes for. Each character’s development was refreshing to watch, and the series followed a sensible storyline that fitted well. I also felt that the comedic side of the series really improved.

This season is the best season of television I have ever seen. Carmy is such a painfully relatable character, I love richie and yeah. I saw a critique that this show tries to normalize the abusive gordon ramsey style kitchen and i have to say I disagree. I believe this show does the opposite, it highlights abusive kitchen environments but ultimatelhy shows that they arent necessary and that a cooperate kitchen environment trumps em all. Ok i hate my review and phrasing,
