Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) A pleasing gimmick that thankfully knows when to ease off on the string-pulling. Mar 2, 2023 Full Review Judy Berman TIME Magazine While our host’s many anxieties set the show apart from any number of other titles that send celebrities on expensive vacations, it’s his charming self-deprecation and tentative embrace of new experiences that make each episode a pleasure to watch. Mar 1, 2023 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times The Reluctant Traveler wins us over on two levels: We get to see some beautiful, exotic, fascinating pockets of our wonderful world, and we get to spend some quality time with Eugene Levy. Rated: 3/4 Feb 25, 2023 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media The humor doesn't go far enough, though, and the neurotic fun that The Reluctant Traveler promises is minimal. Rated: 3/5 Mar 1, 2023 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Levy’s charm is disarming, and we think even he doesn’t realize how his uneasiness somehow makes the people around him more relaxed. Mar 1, 2023 Full Review Coleman Spilde The Daily Beast On his fun new series, Levy forces himself off the couch and into lush locales across the globe. Don’t worry—his neuroses are along for the ride. Feb 27, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Tom W Watched Levy for decades. OK. But this is boring as a travel show. We're supposed to surmise that Levy has never left his house, because according to him, he's never done anything he's presented with, and doesn't like anything he's presented with. He goes to the Maldives to a tropical beach resort, and doesn't want to (and doesn't) do anything related to water, not even the private pool at his own resort suite where without getting wet he fishes the floating breakfast tray out of the pool the butler left for him? So we basically see little to nothing of what the Maldives experience actually is. So why watch? Another example is getting into a tour helicopter the pilot gives a safety spiel including a personal floatation device under the seat and Levy conveys that this completely new to him, so I guess he's never flown on a flight anywhere ever? Come on. Watched a ton of travel shows, this a waste of time? A guy who likes nothing, interested in nothing. Got it? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/24 Full Review Sarah R So charming. These show live and die by the host and Eugene levy is throughly entertaining. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/24 Full Review Connie M Love traveling with Eugene and seeing places and countries I’ll never experience in person. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review Karen F Eugene is charming & funny. Scenic gorgeous hotels. But I would definitely not be reluctant to travel to any of these places or experiences if someone was paying for them. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/11/24 Full Review Nick S It's a solid show to have in the background when you're working. It's well produced but it does suffer from repetitiveness. Every episode is the same, he does a bit of luxury, a bit of sights, a bit of cuisine and a few "out of the safety zone" experiences that he's "reluctant" about. Nothing super engaging nor innovative. However, the host is charming and it did make me like him more. Maybe even enough to watch Shitt's Creek Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Gabriella C What is the worse thing to me is his acting, the most of the time he is disgusting about traveling, no one who doesn't enjoy traveling should be able to travel. He acts like a spoilt child who is doing something against his wishes. Nahh is definitely boring to watch. Don't lose your time... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review Read all reviews
