R E I was anxiously awaiting the opportunity to watch this incredible cast work their magic in this series. At the start, I was initially a little disappointed, as (for me) it started off a little slow, and it was difficult to engage in. But…. give it just a little time! I soon found myself engrossed in the gripping storyline and cinematography! Everyone, from the actors to the crew, did their part to bring this epic tale to life! The final episode left me wanting more, and I cannot wait for Season 2! Hoping we get it in 2024! I wanted to like it, I really did but like the Nemo's Under the Sea adventure at Disneyland it got bogged down in a lengthy run time, poor CGI, and a storyline that felt often-times that it was just treading water. The Eco-message is heavy handed, as is the cast. Too many people, not doing much, and getting angry about it. Yes, this is part of the concept but it just feels a bit 'meh'. The season surfs on tropes across horror movies, almost like a Stephen King greatest hits playlist but it seldom gets going. The characters fall flat, instead trying to build mood with scathing glances and muttering. Worth a watch, but sticking with it is like swimming upstream.
