Kathryn VanArendonk New York Magazine/Vulture In its second season, the Amazon fantasy series Wheel of Time, based on the unending Robert Jordan novels that start out like a Lord of the Rings rip-off, is a TV series that has figured itself out. Oct 11, 2023 Full Review Ben Travers indieWire While I may not understand everything about The Wheel of Time, I can spot benchmarks of a Season 2 slump without any help from the One Power... Season 1 felt like it was moving. Season 2 feels like someone jammed a stick in its spokes. Rated: C- Sep 18, 2023 Full Review Clint Worthington RogerEbert.com Following a first season that struggled to build momentum, it’s doubly frustrating to see “The Wheel of Time” keep up that go-nowhere sensibility. Sep 1, 2023 Full Review Jon Negroni TV Line ...watching The Wheel of Time doesn’t hold a candle to sitting down with the novels for the first time and breathing in this story as Robert Jordan intended. But if it keeps up this momentum, who’s to say that pattern won’t change? Oct 7, 2023 Full Review Leon Miller Cultured Vultures A marked improvement on its predecessor, The Wheel of Time: Season 2 serves up an engaging – if decidedly free-spirited – adaptation of Robert Jordan’s beloved fantasy novels. Rated: 7.5/10 Oct 6, 2023 Full Review James Field Pajiba If you enjoyed last season and can let go of any expectations from the books, season 2 is worth the investment. Tristan Johannes S Season 2 of The Wheel of Time truly elevates the series, with deeper character development, a more intricate plot, and noticeably enhanced CGI that brings the rich fantasy world to life. The show continues to build on its strong foundation, delivering a captivating and visually stunning experience that keeps viewers eagerly anticipating what’s next. I cannot wait for season 3! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Lystra P Sad that with such rich source material the writers for this show have absolutely destroyed the original ip and replaced a riveting and wonder story with an bland and awful one. Hollywood can't seem to figure out that they don't need to "fix" award winning stories and characters. If they would just tell the story with the characters from the books they would have had an amazing smash hit. Instead the re-wrote it, and broke it. Sad to say I can't wait to hear this show is cancelled. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Tyrent M As a superfan of the books, I read and re-read them every time a new one came out, starting when I was 13. I was so excited for this to be made, but then I saw it. Never hated someone I don’t know, but I can tell you I hate Rafe Judkins. This slimeball ruined a great story, great characters, and a great world. Amazon keeps paying this jackass to ruin the Robert Jordan world. Now that this has been made, it is unlikely we will get a better version while I’m alive, Rafe Judkins is a worthless jerk for this. Season 2 doesn't get better. I've seen people talking about fans need to get over it, they need to adapt it for TV. No fan thinks the story can be put in TV word for word, they know it needs to change. So tell me where it was needed to make charicters Lesbian when they wern't, or haveing sex when they didn't, or killing their wife when they didn't have one? How about having no charicter building? Making Matt a PoS instead of a lovable rogue, who always tries to help, while complaining the hole time. Making it about a sub charicter instead of the real main charicters? Moiraine is a minor charicter, Rand, Matt, Perrin, Egwene, Nyneve and Elayne are the Primary charicters, but this show is the Moiraine show. This show could have been epic, with charicter building and following a good storyline. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/08/24 Full Review Foivos F I do not understand why would the writers of this series modify so heavily the source material. We spent the first half of this season living the unneeded drama between Lan and Moiraine. And then, on the big finale, we do not get the promised fight in the sky between Ishamael and Rand. Instead, we get Egwene, who is not even an accepted at that point, protecting Rand against Ishamael. ISHAMAEL! The most powerful of the fucking forsaken! Who has survived since the age of legends! The 3 stars are there just because of the actress that does and excellent job portraying Lanfear, and the episode with the training of Egwene by Renna. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/06/24 Full Review Andrea T Way better the first season..thing are getting more intristing and the rhythm get better….still, I wouldn’t hurt a bit more of contest sometimes and lore…optimistic Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Niccolo L Always liked Rosamund Pike! The cast is solid, the storytelling is rad, and the sfx/cgi is pretty cool. Can't wait to see what's next in S3 of The Wheel of Time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
