The Galaxy Buds 3 are finally here. The company launched them at the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, where it also launched several other products, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and Galaxy Ring.

1. Improved connectivity and better audio codecs
The Galaxy Buds 2 featured Bluetooth 5.2 and support for Samsung Scalable Codec (SSC), which offered high-quality music transmission from your Galaxy phone to the earbuds. Well, Samsung is stepping up the game with the Galaxy Buds 3.
The Galaxy Buds 3 feature Bluetooth v5.4, which offers better connection reliability and security as well as higher power efficiency compared to Bluetooth v5.2. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Samsung has also equipped the Galaxy Buds 3 with SSC HiFi and SSC Ultra High Quality (UHQ) which offer a 24-bit/96KHz sampling rate. This means that the earbuds will be able to take higher-quality audio from your Galaxy smartphone and offer you higher-quality music playback.
2. Larger case battery offers longer battery life

With that, the Galaxy Buds 3 offer four additional playtime with ANC turned on, one hour of additional playtime with ANC turned off, five hours of additional talk time with ANC turned on, and six hours of additional talk time with ANC turned off. 3. A new force sensor enables pinch gestures
The Galaxy Buds 2 featured a touch sensor, allowing you to control the earbuds with touch and hold gestures. In addition to a touch sensor, the Galaxy Buds 3 feature a force sensor. This allows you to play/pause music, take/reject calls, and increase/decrease volume with pinch gestures, which are more convenient to use than touch and hold gestures.
4. Significantly improved ruggedness and durability with the IP57 rating
The Galaxy Buds 2 featured an IP52 rating for water and dust resistance. While that was good enough for day-to-day usage, including working out in sweaty conditions, it wasn’t as good as what the competition offered. Take the Apple AirPods 3rd Generation for example. It has an IP54 rating. As such, people demanded better water and dust ingress protection.
Samsung has listened to people and made the Galaxy Buds 3 more rugged than its predecessor. The latest earbuds feature an IP57 rating for water and dust resistance, which is higher than most earbuds, including the Apple AirPods 3rd Gen.
With that, you no longer have to think twice before using the Galaxy Buds 3 when you are drenched in sweat or are working out in light rain. The enhanced durability should also make these earbuds last much longer than the Galaxy Buds 2.
5. Improved call quality with better microphones and Galaxy AI
The Galaxy Buds 3 feature three microphones on each earbud, just like the Galaxy Buds 2. However, the microphones on the Galaxy Buds 3 are now closer to your mouth with the stem-like design. With that, microphones on Samsung’s latest earbuds will be able to record your voice in a significantly better way than the previous model, offering better call quality. That, however, is one of the many improvements in microphone/call quality.
The microphones on the Galaxy Buds 3 also feature the Super Wide Band (SWB) technology, which can record audio with a much wider bandwidth than those on the Galaxy Buds 2. Audio with higher bandwidth sounds clearer. That means when you are on a call, your voice should sound better to the other person with the Galaxy Buds 3 than with the Galaxy Buds 2. Fortunately, things don’t stop there.
Despite those improvements, it is possible that the Galaxy Buds 3 might not be able to capture certain bits of what you say because you are talking too quietly or due to background noise. To overcome this problem, Samsung is using Galaxy AI. That’s right. The Galaxy Buds 3 will use Galaxy AI to reconstruct the lost bits of what you say, transmitting your voice with utmost clarity to the other person on the call.
