Samsung started rolling out the March 2024 security patch to its smartphones and tablets on the first day of the month, and so far, the company has mostly offered it to high-end and mid-range devices. Now, the South Korean tech giant is shifting its focus towards offering the latest security update to entry-level devices.
Samsung has started rolling out the March 2024 security patch to the international variants of the Galaxy A02s and Galaxy A05s, which carry the model number SM-A025F and SM-A057F respectively. The latest security update fixes a total of 45 security vulnerabilities. The version of the new firmware for the Galaxy A02s is A025FXXS7CXC1 and that for the Galaxy A05s is A057FXXS2BXC3. The updates for the two phones are currently live in Asian countries. Samsung should expand it to other regions soon.
You might already know how to check for the updates manually in case your phone hasn’t notified you about it. However, if you are new to the scene, all you have to do is navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download it from our database and install it manually but we recommend you to stick to over-the-air method.
The Galaxy A02s is currently on the biannual security update schedule, which means that Samsung will offer it only two security updates every year. The company launched the phone in 2020 and promised to offer it security updates for four years. Considering the two things, the Galaxy A02s will most likely get only one security update in the future.
The Galaxy A05s, on the other hand, is currently on the quarterly update schedule. So, it will get one security update every three months. Samsung launched the phone last year and promised to offer it security updates for five years, which means that you don’t have to worry about the security of the device till 2028.
