Galaxy S22 July 2024 security update is now available in Latin America

The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra have started getting a new software update with firmware version S90xEXXSAEXF9. It is a minor update that brings the July 2024 security patch to fix 25 vulnerabilities in the Android OS and 33 vulnerabilities that are specific to Samsung phones.

Since it is a minor update, you may not need to backup important data on your phone. If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in Latin America, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

The story continues after the video…

The update is available in Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The devices in the lineup received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. The phones will get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update later this year.

The South Korean firm is preparing to release the One UI 6.1.1-based update with new features to some of its high-end phones and tablets, but the Galaxy S22 series may or may not get those features.
