The Galaxy S22 series, which became available for purchase today, is already getting the March 2022 security update. In fact, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra are the first smartphones in the world to get the March 2022 security patch.
The new update, which is currently rolling out to the Galaxy S22 series in Germany, bears firmware version S90xBXXU1AVBF. We expect Samsung to release this software update in more European markets within the next few days. North American and South Korean versions of the phone haven't received the update yet.
The company's new software update, which has a download size of over 800MB, fixes various privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It could also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements. Some stock apps on the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra could get updated after installing the new software. Some markets might get this update with the February 2022 security patch.
Unfortunately, our Galaxy S22 Ultra unit wasn't affected by the screen glitch seen on other units. So, we can't test our device to see if the bug was fixed. However, we are hearing from people that the issue has been resolved.
If you are a Galaxy S22 series smartphone user in Germany, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install.
