Galaxy Watch 7 Exynos chip to sport a new, simpler naming scheme?

Here's a new Galaxy Watch 7 rumor: Samsung's next smartwatch could bring a change in the naming scheme for the company's wearable Exynos chips.

When Samsung started making WearOS smartwatches, the company decided to change the way it names its Exynos chips for wearables. The Galaxy Watch 4, the first WearOS Samsung watch, used the Exynos W920 chipset, and Samsung chose to use the same chip for the Galaxy Watch 5 lineup as well.

The Galaxy Watch 6 introduced an upgraded chip called the Exynos W930, and with that rumored to be the case for the Galaxy Watch 7 series as well, we have been expecting the new chip to be called the Exynos W940.

However, according to a new report, the Galaxy Watch 7's Exynos chip could be named W1000. That's a simpler naming scheme that we could get behind, and it's one that would better impress upon consumers that the new chip is a major upgrade over the previous chip.

But simple has never been a word in Samsung's dictionary as far as the model numbers for its products are concerned, so we are going to take this report with a grain of salt. There have been some whispers of how much faster and more efficient the Galaxy Watch 7 series could be (30% and 50% respectively), but not enough concrete evidence or information is available in that regard.
