The Galaxy Tab A8 (2022) first received One UI 5.1 in Korea at the end of March. Now, the highly praised firmware update is making its way onto the Galaxy Tab A8 in additional markets across different continents.

Same as before, the One UI 5.1 update carries firmware version X200XXU2CWC1 and includes the January 2023 security patch. Now, however, the update is available for the Galaxy Tab A8 (SM-X200) in Canada, Europe, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Galaxy Tab A8 gets better multitasking features and more

One UI 5.1 turned out to be a great update, and as far as the Galaxy Tab A8 is concerned, the new firmware brings a variety of features. Mind you, not every One UI 5.1 feature available for flagship devices was included in this release for the Galaxy Tab A8.

Features added by the One UI 5.1 update include an easier way to color-adjust selfies, a cleaner info layout for photos and videos inside the Gallery app, simplified multi-window and pop-up view controls, minor additions to the Weather app to check useful information and precipitation info at a glance, and a new weather widget.

Furthermore, when using the Samsung Internet browser, Galaxy Tab A8 users can now continue where they left off on other devices. The app also got improved the search engine for bookmarks.

Additional changes include a new battery widget, support for up to three people in the AR Emoji Camera's mask mode, settings suggestions, and the option to change the folder where screen recordings and screenshots are saved.

Galaxy Tab A8 users in markets where One UI 5.1 is now available should be able to download the update by opening the Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Users can also head over to our firmware section, where they can find official firmware files for download.
