Today is a good day for Galaxy Watch enthusiasts, as Samsung has officially announced that its smartwatches will soon enter the era of AI through the upcoming One UI 6 Watch update. Here's everything Samsung was willing to share about availability.
One UI 6 Watch will be available later this year, with the beta program for select Galaxy Watch users starting in June. The company says only a limited number of users will have access to the beta program, which isn't all that surprising.
The AI-enabled One UI Watch update should debut with the Galaxy Watch 7 series at Unpacked in July. However, older-generation smartwatches will get a sneak preview in June thanks to this upcoming beta program.
Which Galaxy Watch models can join the One UI 6 beta?
First things first, Samsung says the One UI 6 Watch beta program will be available for a limited number of users in South Korea and the United States.
If last year's One UI 5 Watch beta program is any indication, the beta firmware won't come to any other markets throughout the testing period. It will likely remain exclusive to the USA and Korea.
As for which models will get an invite to the beta program, there's some good news. One UI 6 Watch beta will be available for all Wear OS smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 4, 5, and 6 lineups.
The beta firmware will be available for base models, the Classics, and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which, to this day, remains the only “Pro” smartwatch in Samsung's portfolio.

Some features might not be available for older models, but time will tell. Older Galaxy Watches might not boast every Galaxy AI tool. Samsung hasn't said much about this, so we'll have to wait and see if there is any feature disparity between older and newer Watch models running One UI 6 Watch.
