Samsung's display division has been teasing us with concept and prototype tablets and phones with slidable and rollable displays for a long time, and one of those displays could soon be seen on a retail product.
Korean media is reporting that Lenovo is working on a tablet that will sport a slideable display developed by Samsung. The tablet is said to feature a 13-inch standard display that can slide out and stretch to 17 inches.

According to industry analyst Ross Young, this device will launch sometime in the second quarter (the period from April to June) next year. It is reportedly being developed as a tablet and laptop hybrid, and it may support stylus input like Samsung's tablets and flagship phones.
If it isn't already clear, this tablet will be sold by Lenovo and will not be a Galaxy tablet. Samsung is simply providing the display technology to the Chinese manufacturer. In fact, selling these displays to competitors may be all the Korean giant does for the foreseeable future, as it still has a lot of work to do on its foldables before it begins to entice consumers with new form factors.
