A few weeks ago, Samsung released the March 2023 security update to the carrier-locked units of Galaxy A53 in the US. Now, the company has released the update to the factory-unlocked units of the same device.
What's new in March 2024 update for Galaxy A53?
The new software update is now available for the factory-unlocked version of the Galaxy A53 in the US. It comes with firmware version A536U1UES8DXC2 and is available on all carrier networks in the country. It has a relatively small download size and you can download it by opening the Settings app, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and use the manual flashing method using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
The new update includes the March 2024 security patch that fixes 44 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software versions. The update doesn't bring any new features to the mid-range phone, but you can expect it to get dozens of new features with the One UI 6.1 update that could be released in the next few months. You can watch our video below to learn more about the new features that One UI 6.1 brings.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 in 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The phone received the Android 13 update later that year and the Android 14 update late last year. It will get two more Android OS updates, one in 2024 and the other in 2025.
