Chapman is a long-time friens of Kathleen Folbigg who was convicted two decades ago for killing her children Patrick, Sarah and Laura, and the manslaughter of Caleb when they were 19 days to 19-months-old. On 5 June 2023 she was released from prison after summary findings prepared by Bathurst advised there was a reasonable possibility that three of the children died of natural causes.
She had always maintained her innocence but was sentenced to 25 years behind bars for the deaths of the four kids that took place between 1989 and 1999.
