The Story Collective
The Story Collective are a group of filmmakers based in Melbourne. Their series of short films on the lives of refugees in Australia was produced by Rodney Dekker, Joseph Feil and Chris Grose. Reporting on this series was made possible by an independently awarded grant from GetUp's Shipping News project.
I was locked up on Nauru at the age of 10: Child of Hope short film – video
At 10, Mohammad Al Baqiri fled Afghanistan and the Taliban and came to Australia by boat with his brother and cousins. He spent three years in detention on Nauru before his family obtained recognition as genuine refugees. He is completing his final year of a law degree and is a youth ambassador for advocacy group ChilOut

Chol Yahmalek walked around parts of Africa between 1987 and 1991, escaping from civil war in South Sudan. This short film delves into the time he and 26,000 'lost boys' walked 1,600km looking for safety
