- World viewWorld view: Beach pods in Gangwon-do province of South Korea
New year, new look for the seaside? These futuristic-looking beach pods have been installed on a stretch of coast in Yangyang-gun in the Gangwon-do province of South Korea. Designed by Yoon Space Design, they are made of polystyrene and are light enough to be transported between seaside locations. In keeping with the space-age theme, a panelled hatch in the side opens up to allow access to the two-metre square interior, and there's an eye-like porthole window that can be positioned for a sea view. Beam us up, Scotty.
