  • Rodney King's beating 30 years Anniversary in Murals<br>epa09047517 A woman walks by the 1992 mural entitled 'Freedom Won't Wait' by Noni Olabisi in Los Angeles, California, USA, 02 March 2021. Los-Angeles based artist Noni Olabisi created the mural following the beating of black motorist Rodney King by Los Angeles police officers and in reaction of systemic racial injustice. The left part of the mural shows the sufferings of African-Americans tormented by a system invariably against them and the middle and right sections show the Black Panther Party and their help to the community. On 03 March 1991, Rodney King was beaten by the police on a freeway. The event was captured on camera but the justice acquitted the two LAPD officers involved which sparked the 1992 Los Angeles riots that lasted from 29 April 29 to 04 May 1992. EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT
