Bangkok’s famous Indian fine dining restaurant JHOL’s team will be at Ru a craft bar in Hyderabad. Jhol is a Michelin guide and 50 best discovery listed, stylish, family-friendly, brasserie-style dining experience that offers to seat 40-50 guests. World-class chef, restaurateur and author Hari Nayak is behind the menu that features fresh interpretations of coastal Indian cuisine, focusing on regional dishes and redefining the perception of Indian food. Hari and Anirban have been the architects of the culinary journey of coastal Indian cuisine at Jhol. For the special pop-up one can expect a lot of foods that draws inspiration from Hari’s coastal roots and his hometown of Udipi. Starting last year, their menu has been strictly no ‘butter chicken, no dal makhni, no chicken tikka’ and they alsostopped serving naan.
Jhol is popular for its Kundapura ghee roast chicken, Kerala mutton roast, daab chingri, sol kadhi ceviche and chili pepper crab with egg appam. These are however, just a few dishes. Indian breads like naans and kulchas, are replaced with coastline favourites like appams, kallappams, tatte idli, neer dosa etc.
The pop-up is on July 4 and 5 at Ru, Jubilee Hills.
