APCC president D. Srinivas reiterated that AICC president Sonia Gandhi has agreed to give Telangana.

“Taking the party MLAs and MPs, I will go to New Delhi to apprise our leadership of the need for the separate State,” he said.

Appeal

Addressing a public meeting at Mudiraj Galli here on Wednesday, he appealed to the people not to believe the words of other political parties as they cannot make Telangana possible.

“Since our party is in power at the Centre and in the State, only we can provide development and fetch you Telangana.”

Obliquely referring to the BJP candidate Y. Lakshminarayana who is backed by T-JAC, he said nothing would happen with the election of one MLA.

“Unfortunately, I was defeated in the last election. However, the Almighty blessed me in the form of byelection very soon. If you elect me this time, I will bring Telangana,” he said.

Assuring the Mudiraj community that he would try and convince the Centre to enlist their community in the BC ‘A' group by transferring it from the BC ‘D' group, he wanted them to extend their support to him in the byelection.

Answering a question, Mr. Srinivas said: “There is nothing wrong if people of Nizamabad feel that I will become the Deputy Chief Minister if I am elected this time. I am a 16 annas Telanganite and I need not claim it every time.”
