The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has chosen not to react to the arrest of former Union Communications Minister A. Raja.
Chief Minister and DMK president M. Karunanidhi, who attended a two-hour-long meeting on Wednesday evening at Fort St. George to review bids received for the scheme of distribution of colour televisions free, did not talk to reporters who were waiting for his response.
Other leaders of the party were either unavailable or declined to talk on the development.
The DMK's general council meets in Chennai on Thursday morning where the arrest issue may come up for discussion.
In the evening, Mr Karunanidhi will address a public meeting in Saidapet.
