The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered a probe into the leakage of chlorine gas on Monday from a water filtration plant here operated by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.
The leak at the plant in the Birla Mandir area caused panic among people, mostly poor slum-dwellers.
Three persons were injured and several reported eye and skin irritation after the incident.
The police have registered a case against the plant management under Section 337 of the Indian Penal Code—causing hurt by a negligent act endangering human safety.
