Drake takes down "Taylor Made Freestyle" after legal action threats from 2Pac's estate
Earlier this week, it was revealed that 2Pac's estate sent a cease and desist letter to Drake over recent track "Taylor Made Freestyle", which features AI vocals to simulate a verse in the style of 2Pac.
In a letter to Drake, lawyer Howard E. King said: “The Estate is deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality. Not only is the record a flagrant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time."
Speaking of Kendrick Lamar's history of support and idolisation of 2Pac, he added: “The Estate would never have given its approval for this use. The unauthorized, equally dismaying use of Tupac’s voice against Kendrick Lamar, a good friend to the Estate who has given nothing but respect to Tupac and his legacy publicly and privately, compounds the insult.”
Drake has officially removed "Taylor Made Freestyle" from social media platforms after receiving a cease and desist from 2Pac’s estate.
