Outlook.com problem

I have an outlook email address, and I read it daily. In recent weeks, the iPad Safari version of the web interface has been problematic. Lots of things that take only one click on MacOS requires two clicks on the iPad. Today I got a new message; when I clicked the link to Outlook on my iPad, it took forever for anything to display on the screen. When the screen came up, I got this message:

Hmm. Your browser version isn’t supported. Quickest solution? Download the mobile app. Download Microsoft Teams

Later in the day, the regular email page showed up, but it’s still not working the same as the MacOS version.

  • Is this part of the deprecation of the web app?
  • Do I really need to consider downloading Teams (which I have zero use for) to get outlook email?
  • Why does the iPad Safari behave differently from the macOS Safari?

I’d appreciate any help you can offer.
