FAQs

Which Verizon plans can I choose from?

There are a number of different Verizon plans you can pick, each with different prices and features to suit your needs. You'll find Verizon pre-paid & unlimited plans for mobile and tablet ranging in price from $30 to $65 per month. Every different category of Verizon plans includes a few options to suit all budgets too, so going unlimited isn't necessarily more expensive than a pre-paid plan. You can find out more by reading our breakdown of the best Verizon phone plans where we take a look at Unlimited, prepaid and other options.

How do Verizon unlimited plans work?

Unlimited plans offer larger data limits and connection speeds than traditional plans (especially since Verizon 5G upgraded its 5G band spectrum for faster speeds). You can choose from a range of Verizon unlimited plans, with prices starting at $30 and going up to $65. Each plan gives you unlimited access to their fast 5G network, plus a monthly limit of between 5GB and 50GB of hotspot data per month. If you want to see how these plans stack up to those offered by major competitors, you can read our breakdown of AT&T vs. T-Mobile vs. Verizon unlimited data plans.

Does Verizon offer free shipping?

Verizon offers free 2-day shipping on most orders, saving you on additional fees for getting your device sent you. You can also opt for expedited shipping during the checkout process (though keep in mind you'll need to pay for the faster shipping). If you prefer to buy online and pick up your order in-store, Verizon offers free in-store pickup. Pickup is available during normal business hours from a number of Verizon locations across the US.

Is there a Verizon student discount?

Yes, you can find out how to get a Verizon student discount here on Tom's Guide. It's not just students who can save on their bills, either. Verizon offers discounts to military/veterans, first responders, teachers, and nurses. You can save up to $25/month on select 5G unlimited plans (so long as they're personal plans) by verifying your status through the Verizon website.

Hints and Tips

Shop Verizon refurbished: Consumers can save up to 50% by purchasing certified pre-owned directly from Verizon. The devices are restored to like-new condition and are covered by a 90-day limited warranty.

Use the Verizon trade-in service: You can hand over old devices to Verizon for credit that you can put towards new devices & plans. Eligible devices include phones, tablets and smartwatches. You can get a quote by answering a few questions about your gadget through the Verizon website.

Save with paperless billing: Verizon offers customers the chance to save on their fees each month when they opt for paperless billing. You can net unlimited plans per $10 less per month, with savings on other ongoing plans including home internet.

Bring your own device: Verizon customers can save up to $540 on their plans when they bring their own handsets, tablets or laptops. This is a great way to save if you already have a device and want to switch plans or even networks. Just make sure your device is unlocked and find your IMEI number.

Choose bundles for savings: Many Verizon plans include added perks & extras such as discounted Verizon home internet and Disney, Hulu & ESPN Plus subscriptions if you opt for the slightly pricier options. For example, the more expensive Verizon unlimited plans give you cheaper Verizon home internet rates and include entertainment or connectivity packages worth up to $300 off selected plans.

Keep an eye out for Verizon deals: Verizon regularly offers discounts on handsets and plans to remain competitive. Here at Tom's Guide, we keep up with the best Verizon phone deals to help you save on the carrier's range. Expect deals on leading iPhones, Samsung handsets, Google Pixel phones and more.

Sign up for the Verizon newsletter: Register to receive the Verizon newsletter and you'll be sent news on the latest products, plans and promotions the carrier has to offer.

How we source coupon codes

The coupons you’ll find on Tom’s Guide have been sourced by our dedicated coupons team, who use the web, our relationships with retailers, & our affiliate networks to find the latest codes. The offers on each coupon page are updated every few days to ensure we feature the freshest ways to save, and our commercial team (based in London) also sources exclusive codes and sales info directly from some of the biggest retailers around.

How we test coupon codes

All the coupon codes we list on our pages have been tested by our deals & offers teams to check they work as intended before they’ve been uploaded. You’ll find a wide range of coupons on Tom’s Guide, including free shipping offers, student discounts, and savings on various kinds of products.

To ensure that all listed codes are available to use, we don’t include any one-time use or user-specific coupons. We also provide as much information as we can to keep things as clear as possible - any expiry dates or terms & conditions will be listed alongside the code. Look for the ‘Terms & Conditions’ text - you’ll be able to click this to expand this section for more details.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

We take care to only list tried & tested coupons on our pages, so all codes should be active and confer the listed discount or deal. However, although we keep up to date with expiry dates and any terms & conditions, sometimes retailers change these before we can update our pages.

Should a coupon fail to work as expected, check you meet any listed requirements. These can include minimum spends, multibuy offers, or product-specific promotions (i.e. 10% off selected tablets). You can view all associated requirements by clicking “View terms and conditions” below your code.

If this does not solve your issue, you can contact our customer service team by emailing coupons.tomsguide@futurenet.com. Make sure to let us know which coupon you were trying to use and which page this was listed on, and we’ll be in touch to help as soon as possible.

How we make money

Tom’s Guide makes money from coupons through a commission-based model. We have agreements in place with each retailer on our site - for every purchase made using one of our coupons or deals, we earn a small percentage of the order total back in commission.

Thanks to this model, we can save our customers money without charging them a thing. You won’t pay a penny to get the discounts listed on our pages, so whichever code or deal you choose, you’ll get exactly what it says on the tin.
