Reality fans rejoice: the UK version of the BAFTA-nominated 'dating experiment' is back for a ninth season.

This time around, 22 brave singles put their faith in relationship experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson and Charlene Douglas. That included just the second lesbian couple in the history of "Married At First Sight UK" – eat your heart out "I Kissed a Girl" – with Eve, a 31-year-old Northern Irish fitness coach trying the knot with Charlie, a 30-year-old operations coordinator from Surrey, although a fairy tale ending was hard to come by as the pair left the experiment at the end of Experts Week.

The past week has proven that the more the couples get to know each other, the more they start to question their compatibility. For Ryan & Sionainn, it was an argument of shoelaces that led them to question how comfortable they were with each other, and ultimately leave the process there and then, outside the boundaries of the commitment ceremony. That's not to say the ceremonies have been all roses this week, with two couples electing to leave on Monday. Caspar & Emma decided to exit on amicable terms, admitting they'd tried but it just wasn't working, while Alex & Holly both went down fighting, with word like "rude" and "arrogant" flying around.

Just like "Married At First Sight Australia", "MAFS UK" is must-watch television... although "Dating Naked UK" will be hard to top.

You can follow the brides and grooms by watching "Married At First Sight UK" season 9 live streams from anywhere – including free options.
