Following the 2023 MINEPS VII Conference, the "Change the Game" Sport Conference will bring together ministers, sports organizations, high-level athletes, private sector actors, investors, social entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to discuss the transformative power of sport for sustainable development.

Partners' Forum - Investing in Social Impact, in and through Sport

This Partners’ Forum will advocate for and illustrate the social impacts of investments in sport policies and programmes ahead of the Ministerial Change the Game Sport Forum held the following day.

It will feature the launch of UNESCO’s Social Impact of Sport Report, setting the scene for a series of sessions exploring topics related to investment in sport through people, infrastructure and innovation.

  • The Social Impact of Sport: UNESCO will launch the Social Impact of Sport Report that shows the tangible and intangible benefits associated with investing in sport, and will highlight the importance of measuring and communicating this impact.

  • Investing in People: Speakers will underscore the importance of investing in grassroots actors from a human capital perspective, through supporting and upskilling athletes, coaches, and young entrepreneurs, and the associated returns.

  • Investing in infrastructure: Speakers will underscore the importance of investing in accessible, community-centric sport infrastructure, and its impacts on participation, inclusivity, and sustainability.

  • Innovating investments: Speakers will explore specific mechanisms and innovations in sport investment so that stakeholders leave with a clear understanding of how best to capitalize on the social returns of investing in sport.

The Partners' Forum will be followed by a Ministerial Forum on 24 July 2024.
