Daikin joins UNESCO's mission in Mexico and begins with reforestation activity

The alliance reaffirms the Daikin Group's commitment to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN's 2030 Agenda.

San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí. - Through the delivery of an Intention Letter, the Daikin company commits to promote and support the development of common themes with UNESCO, such as climate action, the development of women in science and engineering, sports for sustainable development, and the management of inclusive social transformations.

This alliance reaffirms the commitment of Daikin Group to contribute, through its services and solutions, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. Also, it reiterates the calling to the private sector to join in to improve the current conditions for the planet and people's lives.

More than 500 people, employees, and officials of Daikin Manufacturing Mexico and Daikin Latin America planted 807 trees in the La Presa area as the first activity of this new collaboration with UNESCO.

The journey has the theme "Planting the air we breathe" and the corporate slogan "Perfecting the Air," with the participation of the Atlético de San Luis soccer players Óscar Macías, Aldo Cruz, Citlali Hernández, and Amalia González, as well as the mascots Lucho and Tunita.

Andrés Benavides, CEO of Daikin Manufacturing Mexico; Kota Fukutoku, Vice President of Corporate Planning and Advocacy of Daikin Latin America; and Laura Iglesias, Coordinator of Strategic Alliances of UNESCO Mexico, were present at the delivery of the Intention Letter.
