Digital competencies G77 and China

Digital competencies for teachers and school students in Member States of the Group of 77 and China

Digital competencies of teachers and school students are the most important human cornerstone to underpin the success of the digital transformation of education. However, most countries lack both international reference tools to design national competency frameworks relevant to the latest technology iteration. and capacities to formulate curricula.

This is a particularly urgent need in the 134 countries of the Group of 77 and China (G77+China). In response to this, UNESCO’ project on Digital competencies for teachers and school students in Member States of G77 + China aims to facilitate South-South cooperation and knowledge sharing with the global North countries when jointly facing the challenges of digital transformation in the artificial intelligence (AI) era.

The project will leverage UNESCO's series of policy guidance:

It will further guide efforts of Member States in the formulation of national frameworks and institutional programmes on digital and AI competencies through the UNESCO AI competency frameworks for teachers and for school students.
