The design of the Elbow Chair, conceived in 1956, was so ahead of its time in terms of manufacturing processes that only one prototype could be made. Introduced by Carl Hansen in 2005, it features a characteristic steam-bent backrest crafted from one piece of solid wood.
The seat, that appears to almost float above the legs, is made from eleven layers of moulded veneer providing exceptional stability and offering the sitter optimum comfort for periods of extended use. The Hans Wegner Elbow Chair is a compact and space-saving piece suited to use as a desk or dining chair.
This chair is stackable in groups of four. Please note however that long term stacking is not recommended as it may cause permanent indentations to the seat pad.
