Canali S/S 2016
Mood board: Working in shades of pool blue, rust, ochre, sage and periwinkle, Andrea Pompilio cut a collection of classically cool sportswear and tailoring separates that fused with his impeccable eye for detail. These were not clothes that screamed for attention, but they managed to keep everyone's eyes glued to their easy polish.
Best in show: Canali is less about the complete boring suit and much more about great Italian-based separates. We especially liked the terry cloth short sleeved shirts in deep brick, layered over a crisp white button down shirt and paired with a perfectly pleated 1940s-esque high waisted carrot shaped trouser.
Finishing touches: Accessories were subtle but special. Hard-edged vintage suitcases were carried like business briefcases while crocodile espadrilles and sockless loafers all fused an 'off duty' mood.
