Diptyque launches limited edition products
Not content with developing its formidable scent library, diptyque has stepped out of its comfort zone, teamed up with leaders in the field and launched two accessories to compliment its perfume and candle range, namely a crystal bottle and a lighter.
When it came to working with crystal, diptyque teamed up with the prestigious Cristallerie Saint-Louis and took on French designer FX Balléry. Inspired by Op Art, Ballery enhanced the oblong bottle shape and ran black filigree lines along the curves, while a long black crystal rod became both the bottle's seal and a device to extract drops of the scent to be dabbed onto the skin.
Each bottle is unique and completely hand made, with its molten crystal form manipulated and continually scrutinized by the master glassmaker, and finished off with a unique number and stamp. The bottle is sold with a concentrated version of one of diptych's signature scents - either Philosykos or L'Ombre dans l'Eau.
Not leaving the candles out in the dark, diptyque has also collaborated with lighter specialist S.T. Dupont to produce the UltraJet. Tapping into S.T. Dupont's most iconic creation, diptyque's jet flame lighter was created to complement the range of scented candles. An alternative to the box of matches, the lighter's streamlined form has been fashioned in the brand's colours of black and white, creating a piece that fits right into diptyque's mould of understated luxury.
