British audio designer Naim Audio has given its multi-award winning Mu-so music system a bar-raising makeover.
Following the input of 25 audio engineers over three years of design, ‘Mu-so 2nd Generation’ furthers the Wiltshire-based designer’s 45 year-old mission, to achieve ‘the most authentic musical experience.’
An intuitive user interface featuring a number of preset buttons, providing quick and easy access to a host of streaming platforms including Spotify and Tidal
The wireless system’s first iteration caught our collective eye and ear in 2018 (W*237), blowing us away (quite literally) with its high-performance credentials. It's bold then, that 95 per cent of its technical make-up has since been entirely re-engineered, ‘[pushing the limit of] what’s possible from a one-box system’.
Processing power has been multiplied tenfold to 2,000 MIPS (million instructions per second), working in tandem with upgraded speaker drivers with improved bass response to ensure clarity amongst musical cacophony.
An all-new HDMI ARC input now lets you use the speaker as a soundbar for your TV. Additional input ports include ethernet, USB, Optical Digital and 3.5mm analogue
Meanwhile, a dashing of newly added connectivity options cater to myriad digital and analogue sources. Additional multi-room connection capabilities, access to numerous streaming platforms and technology and dedicated future firmware upgrades take every facet of modern home music consumption into consideration.
For those after a statement piece that will last well into the future and look as good as it sounds – its timeless minimalist design and speaker grilles see to that – ‘Mu-so 2nd Generation’ fits the bill.
