Bang & Olufsen continues to celebrate its storied past with a limited-edition, US-only collectors edition of the Beogram 4000 Series turntable. Originally launched in 1972, the turntable marks its half century as part of a special Beosystem 72-22 music system.

The package teams the Jacob Jensen-designed turntable with a pair of Beolab 18 speakers and the Beoremote Halo remote control, with everything combined into a walnut gift box.
The last is a hand-crafted item designed to be reused as the stand and storage case for the system.

The idea behind the reissue is to connect the decades, with a device that can play vinyl and stream via the Beolab 18 speakers.
The Beogram 4000c Recreated Limited Edition turntable is part of the Danish company’s ‘Recreated Classics’ initiative, delving into its rich product archives.
Beogram 4000c
The original Beogram 4000 turntable was one of 234 products that resulted from the three-decade partnership between Jensen and B&O. One of its major innovations was the tangential tonearm, which has its own horizontal movement that keeps the needle perfectly aligned with the groove.
Its sleek silver finish conceals sophisticated electronics that have been subtly upgraded – space had been left in the original design to accommodate future technology. When the company revisited the Beogram 4000c, it sourced 95 examples of the original turntable, and completely restored and renewed them with a new cartridge and preamp, as well as a new wooden frame.

Beoremote Halo, also part of the system
The Beolab 18 speakers are sculptural masterpieces, with hand-crafted oak lamellas that give the towering speakers a warm but commanding presence. The set is completed by the Halo remote, an elaborate desk or wall-mounted device that puts system functionality to hand.
Just 30 editions of the 72-22 will be made, exclusively for the North American market. They’re sure to find favour with Bang & Olufsen’s many collectors.
