Max Verstappen starts from the third slot on the grid, with Carlos Sainz on his shoulder. Lewis Hamilton completes the front five, with George Russell all the way down in 17th after an all-round omnishambles of a Qualifying session. 

Many eyes, however, will be locked on the man in front of him. Could this be the last we see of Sergio Perez in a Red Bull? It was no secret that the shock contract extension he received at the start of June had more to do with internal politics and sponsorship money than Checo's performances, but since putting pen to paper his displays have gone from bad to indefensible.

He's scored a paltry 11 points in the intervening four races (plus a sprint race). Over that same period, only the RBs, Alpines, Williams, Saubers and Kevin Magnussen have scored fewer points. Verstappen, by contrast, has hauled in 86 of them.

Hungarian Grand Prix live stream in France
