We’ve admired the Grado iGrados for some time. They’ve proved consistently tough to beat and always punched well above their price.
But recently they’ve undergone something of an upgrade. As well as a change of cable colour (black to brown), the iGrados now have the driver from the SR60i hi-fi headphones, rather than the older, standard SR60.
Thankfully, this has improved matters.
The iGrados already produced a wonderfully detailed sound with great depth and cohesion, but the revised version produces more authoritative, substantial bass and a greater sense of refinement.
Some would say that they sound like new headphones.
The only thing to bear in mind is that, because they’re open-back on-ears, they leak an awful lot of sound. Also, some folk might not find the neckband design quite as comfortable as other options out there.
