It's called the Cyrus CD Xt SE DAC X '+' and the transport is fitted with an additional dual-transformer power supply, better re-clocking module and a a reworked circuitboard.
There's also a minor cosmetic tweak to the fascia, which has a new bezel made from a highly polished acrylic. The new slot-loading shape is designed to make disc loading easier, claims Cyrus.
The DAC has been retuned to work better with the new CD transport, and uses new capacitors.
The improvements have led to a major price hike over the existing CD Xt SE/DAC X, which costs £2250 for the pair. The new combo will set you back £3000 (£1500 each).
Dealers won't have stock of the '+' model until late November, but we hope to get our review sample in the next 2-3 weeks.
If you don't want to pay £3k for the new model, there's still stock of the existing CD Xt SE/DAC X – which has just won a Best Buy in our 2009 Awards – available at Cyrus dealers.
