Created by NAD director of advanced development Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, the C545BEE is the first model to be unveiled in the 2008-2009 'budget reference range'. He claims the Classic Series products will have the features and sound quality of higher-priced, premium brands.
The C545BEE plays CD, CD-R/-RW, MP3 and WMA discs and features Wolfson DACs, Burr-Brown op amps, a toroidal power supply and a 12-volt trigger. It is said to use only 1W of power in standby mode.
We hope to review it in the December issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, out on November 13th.
NAD products are distributed in the UK by Armour Home Electronics.
