Worried about your green credentials? Well now you can watch TV and help save the planet at the same time, if the latest claims from Currys and Dixons are to be believed.
How so? Well, while most TVs are available in black or silver plastic finishes these days, the two electrical retailers are offering this 19in Swedx LCD TV in a range of three wooden finishes. It's yours for £350.
Yes, you read that correctly – the Tree-V (ho, ho) range is available with a choice of three wooden frames, in Ash, Sapele or Beech, made from sustainable forest sources, as is the matching pedestal.
The 19in widescreen LCD panel is supplied by Samsung, and all the sets have built-in Freeview and analogue tuners, HDMI connectivity and are HD-ready.
"We're delighted to be the exclusive stockist of the Tree-Vs from Swedx," says DeVere Forster, ecommerce director for Dixons.co.uk. "They are high-spec televisions with frames constructed from all-natural, renewable, sustainable, recyclable resources. Owning a Tree-V is a great way of making a small contribution to planet earth while watching it on telly at the same time."
Manufactured in Sweden, the Tree-V range will be available in Currys stores and from Dixons website in time for Christmas.
So if it's too cold to nip out and hug a tree on Christmas Day, you can just hug the telly instead.
