One of the most unusual entries for the CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) Awards this year, especially in the new 'special project' category, was a £40m yacht, Lady Anne, fitted out with all the latest gizmos by Advanced New Technologies.
The client spent £700,000 on fitting the yacht with plasma screens, a SIM2 projector, Lutron lighting, multiple DVD players and multichannel surround sound systems.
However, the award for best special project ultimately went to Prestige Audio for the Cadillac Escalade. Prizes for some of the more traditional home cinema installations were as follows:
- Best Home Cinema under £20k Beyond the Invisible for a London penthouse
- Best Home Cinema £20-£100k Dawsons for a family home cinema room
- Best Integrated Home under £100k D&T Electronics for a complete lighting, audiovisual, datacoms and security system
- Best Integrated Home over £100k T&T Communications for an integrated home automation system
