Due to "huge demand in the UK", the Spotify music streaming service is to once more become an invitation-only system.
The measure is said to be only temporary, with the powers that be at Spotify pointing to the huge interest from mobile customers as the key reason.
All existing Spotify users will be unaffected, while you can still sign up to become a Spotify Premium member to gain instant access.

The much-hyped Spotify app for the iPhone is now available to download from the Apple iTunes Store in the UK.
While the app is free to download, you will need to be a Spotify Premium subscriber, at a cost of £9.99/month, in order to use the app.
Giving you access to Spotify's huge library of music whether you're online or offline, the app looks set to prove popular regardless of the added cost.

Who would have thunk it? Apple has confirmed that Spotify's app for the iPhone has been approved. The app is not available yet but Apple confirms that it will make its way to the iTunes App Store "very soon".
The decision was confirmed by one of Apple's PR people at its US base in Cupertino. Many had predicted Apple would block Spotify's app for being too close to the iPhone's iPod functionality.
Naturally some kind of deal must have been struck that makes the App appeal to Apple, whether that be in the form of a share of revenue generated by the App or some other form of compensation.
We will look forward to getting our hands on Spotify for the iPhone "very soon"...

Apple's burgeoning App Store should soon have an exciting addition in the form of a Spotify app. This will allow you to access the service and listen to tunes even when you're not connected to a wireless network.
The new app will only be available to Spotify's premium subscribers – those who pay £9.99 a month to access the online service.
As well as being able to access all the streaming music as you would on your computer, you'll be able to save playlists to your iPhone and listen to them offline.
Of course this does see them competing with Apple's own iTunes, which would rather you bought music to listen to offline, but with apps approved from the likes of last.fm and Pandora, Spotify is hopeful of joining the App Store.
Take a look at the a video of the Spotify app in action, and let's keep our fingers crossed that Apple gives it the all clear.
