And the new products just launched at the 2008 CEDIA Expo might give us some idea what to expect: the company has a new Profile 2.0-compliant Blu-ray player (illustrated) and a novel 2.1-channel 'Surround Sound Stereo' receiver.
The BDP-6003 Blu-ray Disc player has full decoding for all HD audio formats, supports 1080p video at both 60Hz and 24fps, handles lossless audio from Dolby and DTS, and also has 5.1-channel analogue output.
That makes it the perfect match for the RX-4503 receiver, which has 5.1-channel analogue inputs despite only being a stereo receiver. The secret is in the use of Dolby Virtual Speaker and Dolby Headphone processing, enabling it to deliver surround sound from just two speakers, with the option of a subwoofer.
The receiver has a front-panel input for a portable music device, and can also be used with an optional Bluetooth adapter, enabling it to play music from suitable mobile phones.
