Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is now available through the Microsoft Store and Steam. The game is also available through Xbox Game Pass for PC, so players with that subscription won't need to pay anything extra to jump back into Age of Empires. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has full cross-platform play between the Steam and Microsoft Store versions of the game.

This version of Age of Empires II includes a graphical overhaul, new animations, and 4K support. It also has three new campaigns, four new civilizations, and new units and technology to play with. There are also several quality of life improvements, an improved multiplayer experience, and several additions to multiplayer.
