It has since dropped in price incrementally, including a brief dip to $1,437.99 for the 65-inch model just a few days ago. The current price of $1596.99 is about where the TV has settled in terms of price, though it occasionally goes up and down.
The size of the current discount varies depending on the retailer you shop through. Amazon lists a 20% savings, which comes to $403. Best Buy only lists a discount of $100, despite the price through that retailer being almost identical to what Amazon lists the TV for.
