What you need to know

  • Microsoft HoloLens made a brief appearance in the Halo Infinite trailer.
  • The augmented reality headset appears for a few frames toward the beginning of the trailer.
  • This is awesome.

People have waited with anticipation and bated breath for the Halo Infinite gameplay trailer in the Xbox July Showcase 2020, but they probably didn't expect a HoloLens to make an appearance. Toward the beginning of the Halo Infinite footage, a Microsoft HoloLens is briefly shown off. More specifically, it looks extremely similar to the HoloLens 2.

The HoloLens is used in the real world to create Mars Rovers and the Orion spacecraft. Now, it's made its way into the Halo universe, even just shown off briefly.

On the gameplay side of things, you can check out an 8-minute gameplay trailer for Halo Infinite, though it doesn't feature any HoloLens headsets ... shame.
