Surface Slim Pen now supported in the Surface app

An update is available for the Surface app on Windows 10. The update brings a new first run experience for pen users and also brings support for the Surface Slim Pen. Aggiornamenti Lumia first broke the news and included details regarding version numbers.

According to Aggiornamenti Lumia, version 42.603 is for the Surface Pro X. The update that's rolling out to other devices is version 42.602.139.0. The main change listed for version 42.602.139.0 is the addition of a first run experience which is outlined in the app's changelog.

First run experience for Pen users. The experience launches immediately on 2 Pen triggers: a) undock the pen from its charger or b) touch the pen tip to the screen (for about a second). The experience guides the user through setting preferences and explaining pen usage in Office and other apps. The experience will only happen once per user, it should not launch once it has finished.

The Surface app is a useful tool that allows you to customize Surface devices.

The Surface Pro X releases on November 19. It supports the new Slim Pen that can either be stored in a cradle that comes with the pen or inside the Surface Pro X Signature Keyboard.
